If you live in Texas and have found an injured wild animal:

Finding an inured or orphaned animal can be a stressful, confusing experience. Knowing the proper procedures when handling such a situation is critical to the survival of that animal. We suggest you first look at the following list of 911 emergency papers to see if there is a paper that addresses the animal you are dealing. Often times, your questions can easily be answered and your situation resolved.

911 Paper for Wild Rabbits
911 paper for Wild Birds
911 Paper for Opossums
911 Paper for Racoons
911 Papers for Squirrels

If the 911 protocols do not provide the information you need, or the 911 paper recommends you contact a rehabilitator, or the animal you have found is not listed, please contact the following group to find help in your area:

The animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complex than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren; they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth. - Henry Benston
